Our Team

In order to be able to provide the offered services our offices are manned by two Marine Engineers and Naval Architects (M.Sc.). Together they can offer the market extensive experience and competences in worldwide Marine Insurance technical surveys, Classification Society and Statutory matters, as well as cruise ship industry experience.

Fátima Freitas

As a valuable support to our operation the company relies on an administrative assistance and office manager.

Born in 1975 and with a degree in Tourism from the Institute of New Professions in Lisbon, Fátima Freitas returned to the island of Madeira in 1998 and shortly after began her professional career in hospitality.
She performed administrative functions in the hotel chains Regency Hotels & Resorts and Hotel Royal Savoy Vacation Club, where she was head of reservations for about 11 years.

From 2012, she shifts her professional activity to the travel agency industry, working directly with the inbound market until 2021, when she has the opportunity to join the company SUL-Consult to perform the functions of administrative manager.

Nuno Quitéria

After having completed his University studies, Nuno Quitéria, born in 1975, has initially been invited to head the maintenance department of SONAE one of their largest shopping centers. After a short period Nuno decided to better apply his knowledge in the field of his studies and thus joined the technical department of a Lisbon based cruise shipping company, Classic International Cruises, the same company Joaquim would join a few years later.

In 2005 Nuno joined the Lisbon based SCUA office, an independent and privately owned surveying company, handling a significant number of casualties on behalf of major players in the worldwide marine insurance business. He has been with SCUA until 2012, when he decided to start his own surveying company being the co-founder of SUL-Consult.

Joaquim Neves

After having completed his University studies, Joaquim Neves, born in 1966, has embraced a career within the Portuguese Classification Society Rinave-Registro Internacional de Navios. Commencing his career he was located at DNV Head Office in Norway, working in hull plan approval of tankers, bulkcarriers and special vessels. He worked several years as plan approval engineer and newbuilding surveyor before moving to the Ships in Service department, first as Class surveyor and later as ISM lead auditor. After having reached the position of Rinave’s head of Ships in Service department and having found the time to complete a post-graduation in business administration he has decided to take up the challenge of joining the technical department of a Lisbon based cruise shipping company, Classic International Cruises, a company operating 4 cruise vessels on a worldwide scale.

He has been with SCUA until 2012, when he decided to start his own surveying company being the co-founder of SUL-Consult.
